Eight festival evenings, over 30 film titles, a rich accompanying program. In short, that’s how the fifth edition of the Burgas International Film Festival took place.
The jury consisting of Rushen Vidinliev, Alexander Stanishev, Ferenz Török, Stefan Bohun awarded the prize “Danny Lerner” in the amount of 10, 000 euros in studio services from Nu Boyana Film Studios to the film “Los Lobos”/ Los Lobos movie, directed by Samuel Kishi. A special mention was given to the Portugese film “Mosquito” directed by Joao Nuño Pinto. The most votes for the audience award received “You will die at 20” directed by Amjat Abu Alala from Sudan.
For the best short film the jury – Andrea Banda Banda, Denis Alkaniz and Tony Minasian, chose “Night Shift”, directed by Eddy Schwartz and Yordan Petkov.
Special award was given to the following movies:
“Killer Jenny”, directed by Bela Lukac – for original screenplay (Andreas Schissler);
“So close away”, directed by Dimitris Georgiev- for cinematography (Damyan Dimitrov);
“Afloat” – directed by Eve de Chems Brouwer for the cast (Garance Eltejaye, Benjamin Siksou).
